Pocket Art #5
Create little moments of art
Pocket Art is your permission for a tiny creative pause… just a little one.
A tiny creative breath in the middle of your day…
What’s in the Pocket?
Light and Dark
Choose a drawing tool.
Draw a simple shape. This could be a geometric shape like a circle or square. Maybe it is an organic shape like a leaf or a cloud.
Now add shadow to one side using gentle shading.
You might use:
A soft pencil to shade
Small lines to hatch
Tiny dots to stipple
Watch how a little darkness begins to give the shape form.
Have a little more time?
Draw two more shapes.
Try making one very light and one very dark.
Notice how contrast of the tones changes the feeling of the drawing.
How did it go? Let me know in the comments.
